Our History

The Church Mouse Thrift Shop, located at 101 North Main Street in Berlin, has a rich history spanning over 60 years across various locations. Initially, it was housed in a wing attached to the front of the Atlantic Hotel. Later, it moved to Old Ocean City Blvd. near the present-day car wash.

Our shop is entirely staffed by volunteers, with the majority being members of our church, alongside several helpers from other local churches. We are fortunate to receive strong support from local merchants and actively participate in town events.

Outreach

The Church Mouse Thrift Shop funds the majority of the Outreach Mission for St. Paul’s Church. Our donations support a variety of local, national, and global charities, including Habitat for Humanity, The Cricket Center, Worcester Youth & Family, and various homeless shelters and referrals from local health departments.

Donations

We welcome donations of small household items, knick-knacks, books, costume jewelry, and in-season gently used clean clothes. Please note, we cannot accept furniture, bulky items, electric items, or computer hardware. If you have a large amount of items or any questions, please contact our coordinator, Helen Wiley, at 443-513-6655 or email her at helenbuttercup@verizon.net.

Due to our shop’s small size, it can be challenging to receive and price large donations during business hours. For large donations, please contact Helen Wiley at 443-513-6655 to arrange a drop-off at a nearby location. We are always in need of jewelry, household and kitchen items, framed pictures, and books (novels and cookbooks, no textbooks or technical books). Due to limited storage, we can only accept seasonal clothing. Please refrain from donating furniture, electronics, or other bulky items.

*Donations are by appointment only.
